I just read in a UK games magazine that the NWN release is now being estimated for September 2002 due to ongoing problems with implementing some of the effects.
Has anyone heard similar? I don't think I can wait that long....

Another postpone? Awg.
Only good thing about it is that I've got more time now to save money for a new computer. My two current ones are not even close to being capable of running NWN. EDIT: fortunately, that last statement turns out to be false. It seems the minimum requirements aren't as high as I first anticipated, and I should be able to play the game in theory. Still, I need to save money for a new computer anyways.

ANY release dates you see are pure speculation. The sad fact is, that because of the nasty four-way lawsuit (Interplay. Titus, Bioware, Black Isle), the lawyers now control the fate of this game, not the designers or producers. It certainly will not be released until AT LEAST Interplay and Bioware come to an agreement, which I have yet to hear a single encouraging rumor about. Desslock on Gamepsot has speculated that it might be YEARS before we see this one, if ever. This sucks more badly than any RPG industry development in awhile, but we've got to face facts, people.

Well on the bright side hehe ye dont know if NWN will be that great. I mean from the Screens I've seen those monsters look like futuristic cyborgs or something. So I dunno, dont wait for it that impatiently just yet hehe. Enjoy the great RPGs now, for NWN will be a complete new way to experince a Forgotten Realm RPG .

All right, I'll concentrate on that "It probably sucks, it probably sucks."
