Anyone playing a mage or sorcerer, what's your favourite spell/spell combination?

Mine: Time stop, run in front of opponent, throw fireball, run to the side, fireball, behind, fireball.

Please tell me. I'm willing to learn new things.

How about Isaac's Missile Swarm, lesser or greater should be fine. Or, if the intended victim isn't immune, cloud of bewilderment, acid fog, cloud kill, incendiary cloud. Less running around, and if they miss the save on the first spell, they are stunned in a cloud of death.

TDC can tell you about Time stop/Isaac's Greater Missile swarm. He very nearly won a round in our pvp tourney in Undermountain with that very strategy, very nearly...The spells you use after time stop will vary greatly upon what you face. Some things are immune to fire, so some of the stuff I suggested above would be worthless. You just have to look at what, and then decide how you want to end it's pitiful existence. (or perhaps consider that if it ever gets out of time stop, it may very well end yours.)

If you're talking level 4... It's more along the lines of Time Stop Gate and as many Meteor Swarms Delayed Blast Fireballs and fireballs as I can get off using auto quickened everything... heck if I get the chance I'll dump everything I have Auto Quicken is just the shiznit

Doesn't quicken/auto quicken only provide you with the benefits that haste does Tomin (only using spell slots 4 levels higher if not auto-quickened), in that you can cast 2 spells per round?

Yep but as a mage it means that it can't be dispeled like casting haste could.. I know it's argueably a waste of feats but since if I got wiz I like to go all wiz I have the feats.

I generally also like having a very high initiative that I like to use to do things like time stop cast spelss come out and time stop again... Which Auto Quicken helps with it seems
