Is there any real point to having a Dexterity of more than 10 for a warrior that'll be wearing the heaviest armour and the biggest shield he can find?

Well, a DEX of 12 will give you a further +1 to your AC wearing splint/banded mail or greater, but a DEX of 13 (whilst not affecting your AC) opens up a couple of good AC improving feats - Dodge and Mobility, which subsequently let you have access to Spring Attack and Whirlwind attack, so there are benefits there.

There is a point to it in fact.

Every two points of dexterity do the following:
+1 reflex saves
+1 to all DEX based skills
+1 to AC
+1 to hit with ranged weapons
+1 to hit with finesse weapons if the weapon finesse feat is used

Then there are the feat requirements as mentioned, like Dodge at DEX 13, Ambidexterity at DEX 15, Blinding Speed at DEX 25, Self Concealment at DEX 30, and so on.

Heavy armor does only one thing, it lowers your dexterity for AC purposes. That means that a person with DEX 30 and full plate has as much AC as a person with DEX 12 and full plate, but his reflex saves, attack bonusses, and dexterity based skills are all higher.
The other thing armor does is impose a skill penalty but it does not actually cap those at any level.

Oooh, I thought that the Max Dex Bonus thing capped all those things you listed. Well thanks to both of you, I'm certainly better off for this information
