I've never played an on-line game (as yet) but am curious about NWN I played BG1,BG2,IWD,W&W,Wiz8,and am now going through DS the second time. But what I'd like to know is when I pay 50-60 bucks for a game that I probably will only play single not on-line and am not swift enough to create new dungeons myself am I being forced to pay extra for features that I will never use and could the game have been bigger and better if all their resorces were put into a single player game???I would love to be able to build my own game with the come with the game editors but think that would be very time consuming and not to easy for a non programer type.If I'm wrong about these features please feel free to explain their simplicity if possible thanks..John

Well, one of the draws for NWN is the multiplayer aspect, but the playability for single player will be enormous as well. Even if you don't have the time to build your own modules, there are many people around the world who do and who will post theirs. So it will just take a little internet surfing to find more dungeons to explore when you are done with the single player quest that ships with the game.

Have you ever seen the mods for BG2 on the web...like The Darkest Day? It took these guys a very long time to create the mod, and it was snapped up by a lot of players, imagine everyone being able to create them. It's like a neverending flow of free expansion packs.

John,
I think your missing out on over half of the enjoyment by not playing these games online. Just my 2 cents worth. In a multiplayer game you dont know if the other members are going to run. It just adds to the excitment of the game.

Are you kidding? This game will be awesome no matter which mode you play it on! I don't remember exactly how long, but the single player mode has a long quest. Even if you don't play it online you can just download mods and new quests for the game. You know others are going to make them, even if you decide not to. Oh and online is free in this game, so why not play it online? At least give it a try...

I wasnt saying that it wont be fun playing by yourself but you wont get to exprience the whole package. It may be just me but after saving the king, dating the queen and slaying the dragon I might want to bost a little bit with my fellow compaions but hey that is just me

I agree the NWN is very expensive if you only buy it for the single-player module. I'd wait for all the just-released fuzz to settle down before buying it. You'll get a more decent price and cold-headed reviews of the single-player aspect.
Still, i trust Bioware. They have shown us twice that they can make the best D&D scenarios. My only fear is that the story might be too short...
There will probably be a couple/some/a lot of good single-player mods, but the best ones will take many months to come out.

I prefer single-player too, for roleplay and character immersion vs. powerplay. But, i can't wait to build my own world.

mreball I totally agree. Most games SUCK on single player. Besides teh BG and IWD serises. Take Diablo 2 for example. That game gets boring in single player in like an hour.

Yeah Diablo 2 did suck playing single player. I dont know I like showing off my newly acquired items it I earned them. In single player you dont get that satisfaction. I guess that goes back to the old issue roleplaying vs rollplaying.
