Ok, on the net now, and its beautiful, lol, the scrolling is perfect, so maybe this Dell/winxp thing is just a heap of crap I deleted the dell folder, the only thing i cant get rid of is the Dell Solution Center which is on the right handside of the start menu, but I couldnt find a bit for it in the start folder in windows.

just a note: setting anything but hard disk as first boot device can be a security risk (if you are trying to secure your machine)

granted, not many people are, but its good to know these things.

Do you mean floppy first? I'd set it the other way around: hard drive first then cd-rom then floppy: you don't want the system to waste time checking the floppy and CD-ROM drives during a normal boot. If you need to boot off the cd or floppy then you can change it back in the BIOS but most of the time I'd rather have a quicker boot sequence.

Yeah floppy first. I have mine set that way by default whenever I upgrade. It takes about 5 seconds longer but I don't mind it.

As for the secure thing, it's fine if you've password protected your bios but if not then it makes no difference. I've been repairing and upgrading computers for a number of years now and to be honest I've probably only seen a handful where the bios is actually protected.
