Question Mark

That, sir, is an excellent speech. What is amazing is that she seems to have pinpointed exactly what is going on in the world and why.

It would be wonderful if we followed her advice. Alas, I am off to write to my representatives!

Well, since all disagreeable posts happen to attack ONLY Margaret Thatcher herself, including apparently her politics and her scabby behind, I will assume that no one can refute the message.

If you hate right-wingers, you've certainly found a challenge in Thatcher. She's just so very well-spoken and astute on the issues. Guess I can see why you'd just blindly challenge her politics, having nothing else to say.

I always thought Mrs. Thatcher was a pretty upstanding lady! I found her very insightful. Not afraid of a fight either!

Lady Thatcher is close, personal friends with General Pinochet, the mass murderer and torturer. She is also one of the most reviled politicians in UK history for a reason. Nobody ever refuted that she was smart. She had focus and drive. She was forward-looking and insightful

She was also, however, totally black hearted. She closed coal mines and flooded them, putting miners out of work. She drove unemployment in britain up to 4 million - almost 10% of the population. Right now, I believe it is closer to 1.5 million (may be wrong). She totally destroyed the National Health service with years of neglect, and she ordered mounted police to charge and beat protesting miners. She tried (thankfully failed) to introduce the poll tax - a tax guaranteed to hit hardest those families living in one house and all struggling to find decent work to pay the bills. Actually, she did introduce it - she only backtracked when there was rioting in the streets against it that was so large scale she couldn't have the protesters quietly and illegally beaten by the police (re : the miners). Mention the words "minimum wage" around her, and you would get your head bitten off.

So disgusted was she at the idea of decorating some British Airways planes with Indian (I believe) patterns to reflect our multi-cultural society, she covered up a tailfin of a model plane with her handbag at a press conference.

She engineered the Falklands war to maximum effect to get her re-elected (a charge some have levelled at Bush). She won by a landslide, voted in by people too inhumanly dumb to realise that voting against the government during wartime is *not* unpatriotic - it is excercising your democratic right.

She was finally deposed by people in her own party. Knifed in the back by her peers, because they could see where she was going. And it couldn't happen to a better person. On leaving Downing Street, she cried for the first time anyone could remember. Stories of old people freezing to death in their homes bothered her not a jot. The only time she ever shed a tear was for herself, because she had been kicked out of the office she had so single-mindedly polluted with her memory.

She was the most wicked, right-wing, uncaring, blackhearted evil old witch that anyone in this country can ever remember having the misfortune to be ruled by, and everyone hates her, except for the select few elitists that feel 5% of the country should be lords and masters, and the other 95% should do what they're told. She ushered in an era of outright greed and selfishness that benefitted the economy, but wrecked many many thousands of lives.

That was Thatcher. There's a good reason we all hate her.
