Default Converting .avi to .mov ....

Is there a good free program to convert .avi files to .mov files? If yes, please recommend. Or is this something I have to purchase? (meaning there's no decent freeware of this nature out there)

I've used the klite conversion pack before, and the earlier version works pretty well. As far as the current one...I'm sure it's fine, might even have multiprocessing enabled for dual, tri, and quad core users.
