Lately, I've had a few strange and unknown names attempting to add themselves to my contact list. Probably some sort of spam scam (spam scam? Try and say that three times really fast ) Anybody else experience the same thing?

Yeah I have had a couple as well. I ALWAYS check out there MSN profile first. If they don't have a profile or its blank then I block and or delete.

Well I have had msn for nearly 4 years now and this has never happened to me before. Strange. Are you sure it isn't just a friend of a friend or something?

Over the years it happened to me a few times.

Every times it happened, I loged on to see the "someone to add you" message. I accepted, but the person was offline. Days later when I finally get to meet the person, none of us know who the other is.

Is there something more annoying than granting someone permission to add you to their friend list, just to have them ask you who you are and why you are on their friend list?

Nope, not had it. I've had people I dont recognise add me, but ive not managed to talk to them yet.

I dont check there profiles tho, why would you bother?

You lot are all too bothered about security and stuff.

mine is not about security, it is about if I feel like talking or not, I have added people who I did not know, just to have them keep pestering me to show them my web cam :/ which I do not do for my friends so why would I do that for a stranger? I am just picky about who I add to my messangers, I only have 2 on my new msn account, bout 30 on the yahoo.

Well, if they pester you then you could block them?

All i'm saying is, if they have added you, maybe there is a geniune reason for doing so, and that you should at least chat to them and see!

My profile is blank, because I'm not sad enough to fill it in, my MSN is used for my friends, and people who I need to talk to regarding IW, and my various car projects......

But, if people add me, I never don't accept.

Just my two cents...
