Stuck in Serpent Temple

Down in room where you enter water to swim to snake figurine,got it ok.Returned to room where I entered water and gate(door) is closed.There is a lever on right wall as you look at door but pulling it does not open door. Please does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

hmmmm

This is a new one to me but I'll give it a go. There are two gates in the floor of the serpent pens, as I recall and I'm wondering if you haven't come in the other room. Can you see the lock near the door? You should be able to use your KEY on it. Either that, or go back into the water and see if you can come up the way you did go in. Doors don't lock after you have opened them!

Hi guys thanks for the maps on this temple I kept getting lost in it as well. Made printouts of the maps should get me through now!!!!. Thanks again.

do you have to release H"Thark ? I have not been able to get the key off the inquisitor. I have got the poker and the lock picks but cannot get that darn key. I am upto putting the idols in the niches, got the wand and the book.DO i keep going or should i restart at a earlier piece? can you let me known very very very soon
