Hi Everyone,

I've finished BGII-SoA and ToB enough times. I need a new game. From what I've heard (and read on this helpful board) IWD is well worth playing.

So my question is, where's the best place to get it for the least cash?

Thanks,
--- Nifft

Hi Nifft,

I live right here in the home of the Black Isle. Well actually their office is about 6 blocks away, but ....close enough.

Currently Icewind Dale can't be bought in Canada, you can find the odd HOW but only what's left they aren't making them anymore at the moment. Icewind Dale II will be out momentarily though and there is talk of them rereleasing Icewind Dale and HOW.

I was able to buy a copy on e-bay new and unused just a few months ago from a dealer in CA though, so you may still be able to find a copy in NY.

Good Luck,
Vix

Erp, that does explain why it's so hard to find HoW.

I got a copy of IWD on sale for $20, but no place near me has HoW. Time to root through the recycling bins, eh?

Thanks, Vix!

Nifft,

For a few more details on this subject, take a look at the thread "Heart Of Winter going out of print?" I found it on page 4 of this forum.

Thanks everyone!

I just bought HoW via Ebay for $15.50. Plus $5 shipping ... oh well, a total of $20.50 isn't horrible.

Now let's all hope I bought from honest people and they actually ship it!

If you're near a HMV store then you can pick up iwd for a tenner but it has a pdf type manual so you'll have to print it out and it is a huge manual over a hundred pages of A4 paper so be careful. How can be bought off ebay i got it for 20 pounds but i live in the uk so it was good as it was only 1 pound shipping as the dealer was in the uk too.
So both games cost me all in all 30 pounds.

Looks like you're all set Nick. Have fun it will be worth the cost.

I don't know about the US but HMV in Canada doesn't sell software.

Hasta Luego,
Vix
