Yes.
Blake sustained a shoulder injury during the playoffs and had an operation. I'm not sure what exactly is wrong with Pronger, but I'm inclined to believe it's not a cop out. It's listed as an "undisclosed injury." He missed almost a full season two years ago with wrist and knee problems, he plays a lot, and he takes a lot of punishment. He had a special type of experimental surgery done on his wrist, and he's the first athlete to have it done and still compete. So it's never 100% healthy.

Quick injury update.
USA defenceman Jordan Leopold (club team: Calgary Flames) sustained a concussion in the Canada-US exhibition game, sometime after scoring a goal. He will not compete in the remainder of the tournament. He is replaced by Paul Martin (New Jersey Devils), an NHL rookie D-man who had an outstanding collegiate career with the NCAA 2002 and 2003 champion University of Minnesota. He also played in the 2001 World Juniors. On a purely whimsical note, it amuses me that there is a hockey player named Paul Martin. That's because I get a mental picture of our suit-wearing Prime Minister (whose name is also Paul Martin) on ice skates with a hockey stick and a shocked expression. Canada beats USA 3-1 in exhibition. Scorers: Canada - Lecavalier, Sakic, Richards. USA - Drury. Three of the four goalies (Luongo, Theodore, Esche) were sharp on both sides, with the possible exception of Conklin, who was beaten three times through the five-hole. Granted, he had a tough night; two of the goals on the PP, two on odd-man rushes.
Finland over Germany today, 4-2. Goals: Finland - Jokinen (2), Peltonen (2). Germany - Hecht, Schubert. Another injury note: Hal Gill (USA) broke his foot blocking a shot, and he is unavailable for the remainder of the tournament. Team USA is progressively getting younger and less experienced on the blueline - also smaller, with the loss of Gill. He is replaced by Avalanche rookie John-Michael Liles.
