The Haggis did not originate in Scotlsnd. the earliest reference to the haggis is by Aristophanes, the Greek dramatst,in about 432BC, and it was known to the ancient Greeks as Loila probateia. It became very popular in France during the 16trh century. It was not until the 18th century that it came to be con sidered as a peculiary scottish dish.

The kilt is not Scottish. It was intorduc3ed into the Scottish highlands about 1720 by an Englishman, Thomas Rawlinson. It is in fact a very ancioent form of masculine dress. White pleated linen kilts, called schentis, were worn by thee men of ancient Egypt throughout the dynastic period.
