I've just been reading the games player charter in the front of the BG2 manual;
  1. Avoid playing when tired. Play for no more than one hour at a time.
  2. Sit well away from the screen.
  3. Play games in well-lit areas.
  4. Reduce the brightness of the screen to darken the contrast.
  5. Use a small a screen as possible.

1+3; So playing straight through from 8pm to 3am with the light switched off isn't a good idea.

2+5 Surely you can't do both. Oh well, I'll have to dig out that 14" monitor and buy a cordless keyboard and mouse.

4But you can't see anything if you do this with the lights turned off.

I think I should change my gameplaying habits.

Standard legal diclaimer that comes with all games so you cant sue them for damage to your eyes or something or if you bite off your tongue in an epeleptic fit. I dont think anyone reads them anymore unless its the first time your getting a game and you actually bother to read the manual.

Avoid looking directly at the screen while playing. If possible you should be in another room with a series of mirrors allowing you to view the screen indirectly. While playing you should be taking IV fluids at all times. Please have paramedics with difibrulator capability on hands at all times. Don't put salt in your eye, don't spit into the wind.
