Hey all, I was wondering which version of Adobe's free PDF should I download and install? When I still had versions 4 or 5 I was fine with most PDF formated files. I did have issues with version 6. Are the newer versions backwards compatible? Now they have version 7.0.5 for Windows XP. Thanks for the help.

I haven't actually used the reader only version, as I have a licenced copy of Acrobat proffesional 7, but I do have Acrobat reader version 7 on my PDA, and know others here at work that use version 7 and say nothing but good things about it.

The layout is similar to Acrobat 6.0 proffesional (if you have used it you will know how good it is) and it has great support so far.

And it's free, so if worst coems to worst and it sucks, you can just downlaod an earlier version

Which version of Adobe Reader? None of them. They take ages to start up, they are ugly, they have ads... I use foxit on Windows and Evince on Linux. I would prefer something free (per RMS' definition) for Windows (Evince already is), but I don't know of any... but the issue is moot for me anyway, since I don't use windows for anything much.
