Looks like a live-action TV show based in the Forgotten Realms will be coming soon, check this URL out:

http://www.wizards.com/news/pressrelease.asp?20010918a

Hmm... If it's a serious, intelligent show, it may be good. But we usually get idiotic 'funny' characters that ruin it (jar jar types).

Sounds promising .... however, the cynic in me is saying that it will be a cheap trashy show used only as a means to promote merchandising !!

( Soapbox time ) I hate merchandising. I saw the stuff in EB that has been brought out for Lord of the Rings. Why anyone would think that a small plastic model of an orc's helm has any desirable qualities whatsoever is beyond my comprehension. ( End soapbox )

Hmm, donīt want to sound pessimistic, but well.. erhmm.. When did fantasy turn out for the best in a TV-production?? :S

Well I hope they donīt destroy the concept totally, and with a bit of luck, they even do a good job of it..

It will probably be shown in Sweden in about twenty years or so anyway... :S

If it had the Xena type 'feel' and look, but with Drow, and other Forgotten Realms types, MAN.. that would be pretty cool.. I would want a continuing story though (Like Deep Space 9)..

Hopefully it should be pretty good, Andromeda, Mutant X and Relic Hunter are by the same company and although the storylines of these might not be the most stimulating they are well produced and don't seem all that "tacky".

Here is how I'll respond
A. If it's anything like the D&D movie then NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!.

B: If it is serious fantasy with humourous undertone, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer... YYYYYEEEEEEEEYYYYYY!!!!

Will come to Germany in 10 years and in German - bah! I think I'll just let it be. I prefer books anyway.

Sounds interesting, Z! hmm.... think we can become screenwriters and to the scripts? I swear sometimes the gamers would do a better job!

Well I certainly hope they do a good job of it...maybe they will adapt the books for the shows. That way at least they would have a decent timeline and have to worry less about where to take the main characters...Time will tell I guess.
