I have the same problem . I had to get a double bed when I got Tuppence; for a small cat she takes up a lot of room! Now I sleep on the left side, she presses up against me and during the night pushes me over to the side so I have about 20cm of bed, she has about the same and the whole right side is empty!

Anyway I sleep on the left hand side if standing facing the bed, and I'm right handed. I find it really hard to sleep on the right side. Did I throw your theory off?

When you say right side do you mean the right side when laying on the bed facing the ceiling above me or do you mean the right side when standing at the foot of the bed facing the headboard. For some bizarre reason this question came up at a party and about 20 people couldn't agree on which side of the bed was the left or right side.
Hmm. Never thought it was an issue. facing the headboard is where I am coming from.
ARRRGH to solve this problem many many many years ago they came up with this universaly accepted solution. When standing near the object being discussed, face what would normally be foreword and whatever side is on your right is.....the right side.

example #1. In a aircraft you sit facing towards the nose, hence the right wing is on your right. A person outside the Aircraft in front of the nose would have the right wing on his left.

example #2. you use a bed for lying in with your head at the headboard so the right side of the bed is on your right hand side. Now if some one was facing you, next to your feet and wanted to go to the right side of your bed they would go towards their left..

Now how easy was that

Oh and by the way Ziroc I'm r/handed and always sleep on the window side of the bed with the window open

I sleep on whatever side of the bed is closest to a window.

But that assumes you sleep on your back.

Doesn't matter which side is which, I always sleep on the side furthest away from the door, wherever I am. I'm right handed.

I usually sleep on my right side in the center of the bed or closest to the wall. I had a bunk bed once and when I went to sleep, I fell about 6 feet off of my bed, wasn't that bad because I couldn't feel anything Now I avoid the edge of the bed ever since

I sleep on the left-hand side of the bed and am right handed.

But I haven't always slept on the left side. We've recently rearranged the bedroom, and I'm on the left side now so I can still be close to the fan. Whichever side the fan is on... that's the side I prefer.

Weird thread.

I sleep on the right side. Farthest from the wall, closest to the radio.

Im right handed - but there is some issue with that, as apparently my natural inclination is to the left, but Ive been trained to be right side dominant. I dunno. I dont argue with docs.

I can sleep on right or left side. I'm currently on the right side as you face the headboard (right handed). Nacht isn't fussy about the side he sleeps on, either. My cats like any side they find open with or without a human in the bed.
