Canada vs. US: 2-1 (first official game)

Very exciting game

MONTREAL (CP) - Martin St. Louis had a goal and an assist as Canada opened the World Cup of Hockey with a fast-paced 2-1 victory over the United States on Tuesday night in which emotion ran high and goaltenders shone.

The game that saw Canada's 38-year-old captain Mario Lemieux go after American Steve Konowalchuk for running goaltender Martin Brodeur also had a player from each side leave with undisclosed injuries - defenceman Ed Jovanovski for Canada and U.S. veteran Mike Modano. Source

Will have to try to get used to the new jerseys.

Well the final is here.

Canada Vs. Finland

Anyone surprised Finland made it to the finals knocking off the US. I am not, Finland as a decent team + 1 very hot goalteander.

Here's how Canada and Finland match up in the World Cup final tonight:

Should be an exciting final.

Here is something funny or sad depending on how you wish to look at it.

The quarter-final game between Russia and the U.S., the resumption of that cold war rivalry, drew a 0.4 rating on ESPN2 compared with 2.1 for, ........ poker. Yes, the World Series of Poker, got a better TV rating than this game.

Gonna see the game soon. I'll fall asleep, and I'm doubtful whether we can do it, but Finland also have nothing to lose.

You Americans and your poker!

I'm worried about this. We looked awful against the Czechs. I'm afraid to watch.
