Hi All,

Just got one of my characters to the Paladin level and thought I would try to redo the Valeia priest quests for some quick level ups...

I was given charge of the Mekdawa potion quest, but am unable to give it to him (the game locks up) and the Priest guild does not recognize me for having done that quest with my party.

Is this normal? Should I be awarded anything for this quest? Or should I just take Ishad N'ha quests?

Will it make any difference?

Sharde

If you're unpatched, then don't worry about it. There's a bug in one of the Ishad N'hahahaha temple quests where you keep getting rewarded each time you enter the temple, which also means that you keep gaining levels in your guild. If you want to try to make up for this bug, then just level up your guy a 2 extra levels after completing this quest.

The potion quest is not an "all party" quest. You have to complete the quest for each character that is eligible for the quest. That means it is the character who has said yes to undertaking the quest who must give the potion to Mekdawa, and it is also he or she who must be the active character when entering the priest guild. I all these conditions have been met and you still have not received a reward and promotion, then you have encountered a heretofore unknown bug. Congratulations!

There is one thing that puzzles me. You say "redo"!?! Each of your characters (who is a priest guild member) can undertake the quest until it one party member has been rewarded for completing the quest. After that the others that have undertaken the quest as well can still get their reward, but those who have not undertaken it before cannot undertake it then. What exactly do you mean by "redo"? Hmmm... I'm not sure that's true for all quests, bsftcs. For some reason, I think I've had characters start the initial rogue and temple quests at different times, and still get through.

I think it may only be true for assassination or unique retrieval quests. Assassination quests are things like Tevik Teporn, Mon the Sculz, and so on. Unique retrieval quests are things like the sword of Mastus, the leprechaun's stone, the eye of the serpent, and so on.

But I'm with you... I'm curious as to what Sharde is actually doing.

If you have XP or similar, the game will freeze whenever you hold the cursor over anyone when you are in the use/give thing. Try right-clicking the W&W icon and click properties. Run the game with Windows 95 compatibility mode while you are giving him the potion.

Eagle Eye,

Thanks... This is indeed the problems I am having with the NPC's... Usually I find some way to get it to work.

With Kerielle, I stole something from her first... With Mekdawa I bought the potion from him and then sold it back... The priest guild then recognized me for doing the quest (again) with my Paladin.

By redo, for those that wondered... I meant exactly that. I had already done this quest with a different character (from the same party). I had to "redo" the quest with my Paladin to get her to first level Priest.

Thanks all for your help.
