Do you want to have fair fight? If you will use fake talk, traps and cloudkill or any other sneaky strategy you could have killed him a lot of time ago.
It depends only on you!

Yes mate... take him on. You're intelligent enough to beat him with your mind, and not necessarily brute strength.

And heck, get two birds with one stone... get Cerynd killed while you're at it.

I fought Firkragg with an average party level of 12 and more or less had an easy time with him... ...

Before confronting him, buff your party up, then enter his lair and summon some creatures. Get your tanks to wail on him while your mages casts Lower Resistance, then cast Greater Malison and get a Cleric to cast Doom. Finally, in the 3rd round... cast something like Feeblemind or Polymorph. Proceed to make Dragon sushi.

Firkragg is just a squirrel at heart.

I have a list of dragon slaying tips for both low and high level parties. The link is in my signature.

If not a Sorcerer casting total oblivion, then a Cavalier meting out justice. Otherwise, I think I will just be a Blade and torture my enemies with, "My Heart Will Go On".

Platinium Sorcerer of ALSB, Aerie Loving Sacred Band! She's MeowRrrr, and more!

I think what happened was that Edwin failed his save when Firkragg casted Dragon Fear. Casting Resist/Remove Fear beforehand will solve that problem. In the image I just linked above, you can see Edwin getting ready to cast Feeblemind, you will know it is Edwin, because nobody else has 7 Magic Missiles.

Try saying to Firkraag that ur gonna fight him then Edwin will say "Moronic fool u wish to fight this ancient reptile? I will not be a part of this" or something like that, then he will leave ur party.

Weird, maybe because I did the evil quest first? But Edwin never said that.

WHAT!? EDWIN HAS 7 MAGIC MISSLES!? Man I knew he was awesome and better than a PC mage can be (legit at least) but that just ROCKS!
