Should I wave goodbye to my reputation now, or go the whole hog and throw it a farewell party?

I don't seem to be able to post the whole thing up in one go so I'll post it up seperately

~grynz~ You've blatantly not had much exposure to real chinese food!

Oh I know practically everything has some sort of soy in it. Soy sauce I can deal with on SOME things. But then you had to go and mention that evil monstrosity tofu
And believe me I would have has more exposure to real chinese food then most other people here
And I do love some of it, so long as it has meat
But tofu or soy products just make me nauseous.
My mothers sometimes patron, was a Tao master and his wife made some of the best food I have ever tasted (and yes it was REAL chinese )
But then she also made some of the worst food I have ever tasted, not that she was a bad cook simply that some dishes were full of beans and tofu and all

Just posting again to state that it wasn't my intention to tell anyone what to eat, when to eat it, or why to eat it. I was just joking around a little, apparently not the right thing to do here.

Why not? A few of us had a laugh and a chuckle, some of us had a debate, no-one got flamed or was hurt . - Isn't this what a forum is all about?

heehee... I'll stop talking about how wonderful Chinese food is now. Not that I'm biased or anything

It's sad but most of the "chinese food" you get in europe and america isn't really chinese food. It's all been slightly altered to take less time to cook and to suit the western style more. It's westernised chinese food.

Ever tried Ramen Noodles?... don't care what you say but I can taste the chinese newspapers... hey Deng zhoe ping is dead...

By the way I eat them a lot when I'm broke... 6 packets for a buck...

But I do get people telling me that sort of thing every single day in a non-joke way, and I have even been verbally insulted for being vegetarian - so to me it didn't come across as a joke. But no harm done, sorry if I misunderstood your intentions. Just a hint for future, putting a in can indicate the friendly nature of your post, makes it easier to judge whether you are joking or not
But OK, sorry if I overreacted
