Still haven't decided whether i want to do it with NPC's or create my own party, but just in case, what makes up the perfect player created party?

i dont like the npc's, but there are good quests involeving them. i useually create four or five of my own characters, then use one of the npc's for the quest. i dont use the fifth, unless it gets hard. you just get more XP if you have five, instead of six. i use a paladin as my main, an archer, a thief, and a sorceror. that gives me my basics, and you can pick up clerics along the way, and use them long enough to do their quests. this is my preference however. i did solo and beat the game, but i dont like soloing, its just too boring to me. hope this helps.

I think that the best player created party changes from player to player. We all have our own styles, and favorite tactics. There are many ways to play the game, so I think its best to try to find how YOU like to play the game the most and roll with it.

That being said.. Mine is: (Assuming ToB)

Monk
Fighter/Druid
Kensai -> Thief
Sorcerer
Blade
Barbarian
Yeah, kinda wierd, but so am I.

I agree. No such thing as a "Perfect Party" any more than there's a "Perfect Character." Once again, assuming ToB:

Berserker->Cleric
Undead Hunter
Fighter->Mage
Totemic Druid->Fighter
Assassin->Fighter
Elven Mage/Thief

halfling (or half-orc) fighter/thief
gnomish (or elven) fighter/mage
half elven Ranger/Cleric
Archer
(can add a monk or dwarven berserker here)
