Last week a friend of mine visited me and asked what i would like for christmas present. I was betwween Diablo 2 (i know, pretty old, but i havent played it and i hear from everyone that is the best RPG off all time), and Titan Quest, which ive read a review about it and i saw that its good. So, whats ur opinion?

Diablo II is an action game with level grinding, not an RPG. It's not a bad game, but depending on where you come from you might not find it to live up to your definition of an RPG...

um... back when I played Titan Quest it had some bugs, mainly my sound card had compatibility issues and if I let the sounds enable I kept crashing. But by now it should be fixed.
Diablo II is good, but it's pretty old. I had fun with Titan Quest, I think it's a good game. My brother and me played in a LAN, and we had lots of fun. But if you pla to play multiplayer with strangers, I recommend Diablo II. Diablo II has a closed online server, meaning the characters are saved on the official server, so there is no hack and cheats. Titan Quest doesn't have that, so people can cheat. That can be a problem if you want to play with random people. So if you want to play single player or just with your friends I recommend Titan Quest, if you play to multiplay with strangers, I'd go with Diablo II.

Both games are similar in several ways. TQ is somewhat like an expanded Diablo 2. It is a much longer game than Diablo. It has skill trees similar to D2, with this difference: at 8th level (or later) you can add a second class.
Also, there's no waiting for a specific level to add points to skills. You get three skill points (and 2 stat points) per level. You can work your way up the skill tree as fast as you like, putting all three points in the tree, or splitting them between the tree and the skills. I liked the two-class feature, although in solo play it may be better to stick to one class. Average finish for solo play is usually in the level 30 range. |
