Imoens belt

When you start in Irenicus' dungeon Imoen is wearing a belt, but when she is back from the asylum it is gone, I never found out what it did or why she had it on. Does anyone know???

it keeps her from dieing, cause she's integral to the story. if she died, alot of what goes on wouldn't be possible. It has no place in the story, just a bit of programming to allow the story to work.

btw
some people hack it into multiplayer games making them nearly invicible(save the nasty technique of shapechanging into a mind flayer and lowering thier inteligence or draining thier levels(possible through a spell i believe)

ok, so she is important to the plot and can't die with the belt on... well what then if you kick her out right away, does she then still need to be saved etc?? won't that spoil some of the game plot???

no she just shows up at the outside, if she's dead she can't be captured though, right?

Even if you kick her out very early - well let's say your destiny is predetermined by the programming gods [img]smile.gif[/img] - you'll see her again whether you wish to or not... The general flow of the plotline won't change. I mean, even soloers have to deal with her...

Yeah, but it's still stupid that the plot depends so much on one single npc, that's the worste thing in BG II, but besides that it is a totally killer game

If I'm not wrong you will still meet Imoen once you emerge from Jon's dungeon even if you didn't take her into the party. Hence ths main part of the BG2 plot (saving Imoen) is still preserved.

Hell, I think I'll try getting her killed in the first five minutes just to see what happens later on - never really thought about it to be honest

I think it would spoil the entire game, but then again it is so early in the game that you can just restart... I think I'll try it too...

she teleports away, you can't kill her cause the belt brings her hp back to 1 and when it's at 1 she yells something about not dieing there and teleports out
