Well, that depends on the rest of your party. Looking purely at his abilities, he's not all that bad. Looking at other things... well, there's a reason we have an anti-anomen society somewhere around here...

Anomen is pretty good in a tangle and can biff the bad guys with the best of them, i'm using him at the moment and this is my first time through - the Fighter/Cleric combination is great - beef him up and send him in!

Although i find his Dexterity is a let down, good thing theres plenty of Dexterity Potions!

Off topic: Could've been worse I've seen people with the exact same location 0_0. Dreadful, isn't it
I'd just keep it as it is.

If you're playing a female, there's the romance plotline. To be honest, I like his... grating... personality. It makes me laugh.

O yeah take him along if it's your first time w/ him for sure. At least just to see what he's like. (i never met an NPC in BG2 I didn't like)

I always liked him - maybe Viconia is better clerically, but as she is evil she tends to control undead, which is great, but at high level Anomen will EXPLODE undead - highly satisfying to watch . Talks a lot, but that's just, you know, "righteousness" - just a phase...

*Seems* like a better fighter than Jaheira even though he's already dualled early... definitely find him the Gauntlets of Dexterity to make him real spiffy... in Chapter 6 you'll probably want to present His Bleeding Lordship with Crom Faeyr and he'll take over the tank-mode operations...

Question Mark

I tend to keep Anomen until he completes his quest, then leave him as a fill in when I need one. After all, you can't keep em all!

Why keep him until the quest, and then dump him? It is after the quest he really takes off as a good cleric, as well as he is much better to have in the party. That is, if he passes the test.

Like sir exxon said, he gets usefull after you beat his test, if you take the good path. I usually keep him anyway, he can stand his own in battle and can be a good healer too. its good to have a healer in battle with lower AC than other healers (aerie for example) so he can heal tanks without being disrupted.
