Yep, looks suspicious, but not certain yet. Simultanaeity, explosion, political climate (Chechens), and hijack alert. OTOH, the maintenance checks and overall quality of Russian airlines can be quite poor. Also, no group has claimed responsibility yet.

We shall see.

That alone is not determinative. I don't think any group has officially claimed responsibility for 9/11 either.

Osama praised the attacks, but I don't think he claimed responsibility. There's this conspiracy theory that's been floating around for a while that AQ was not behind the attacks, and the gummint put blame on them so we'd have someone to go fight.

Of course, that's undermined by the fact we know the identity of the hijackers -- and their AQ affiliations. Of course, I think the conspiracy theory relies on the Syrian and Saudi origin of most of the attackers to actually accuse those governments of being behind the attacks.

Regardless, this Russian situation smells fishy.

It's a shame thet the press (in the UK anyway) haven't brought a great deal of attention to the matter. I bet if it had been in America or any other European country their would have been a lot more fuss.

That is exactly WHY I am keeping this bumped and up to date. It REALLY pisses me off that the USA Press isn't even giving this much coverage. Shit, if this happened in the USA, the world would stop.. lol.
