I just blew through the entire game in record time playing 4 monks and only keeping NPCs around to do their retarded quests. No spell casting, just plain old fashioned knuckle busting action. And when I got 4 quivering palms going at once, no boss could withstand it. By the time these guys got up to level 16 it was a cakewalk.

Has anyone else tried this? It was pretty enjoyable not having to bother with grabbing loot - kind of like playing a video rendition of a bad Jackie Chan movie.

Sounds pretty cool. But what do you do with the traps? Or sometimes you have to open a locked door, how do you do then? force? You said you didn't keep any npc except for the quests. And what about healing, is it enough with potions and temples? How do you beat mages? Doesn't monks have pretty poor hitpoints, so it will be quite difficult to tank with them? I haven't played a monk, but if you managed to play the game through without a mage, a thief and a tank, the monk must be pretty good.

One combination I would like to try, is to have 3 fighter/thiefs and a kensai/mage.

Disclaimer yeah I did seem to always have Imoen or the traitor in the party and they did the MUST picks but I didn't bother with any loot only chests. If it wasn't part of the quest I skipped it. Point is that 4 monks can beat down anything in game. I'd still take a mage over a monk in high level PvP combat though. Next play-thru is going to be 4 mages.

Monks eventually get lay on hands ability which makes rest healing fast and potions make up for the times you can't heal by resting. They can also detect traps and the hit points are equivalent to clerics so I did have about 80 hp by level 15, not too shabby, and you bum rush with 4 monks so you spread out the damage.

this is probably a stupid question but how do you play with 4 monks?
do you have to play a multiplayer game to create or something?
