My machine config: Dell dimension 1.8 gig,256 Ram,Geforce-3 ti500
Os-ME
I had problem even the first time i started playing w&W
The game came to abrupt halt from time to time( it just returned to windows!)
That time i had no idea of this forum unfortunately.
So i thought i should use the patch. And after the patch installed the game ran smoothly!
Recently, just to make use of the usefulness of not having patch ,like retaining the items like no-dachi of stone, i used to copy the specified files that correspond to patch files(prepatch version) and run the game.
Yesterday, i had severe probs that my comp kept hanging!!
I had to use ctrl+alt+del.
The messages were:
1. Integer Divide by zero occurred at address 004843ec
2.Deep6 has caused an error in DEEP6.EXE
3.Deep6 has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL
Deep6 will now close

After repeated reloading, still there was no use!
But i was able to run the game if i recopied the patch files to the w&W directory
what could b the prob?

Sometimes a patch...adds files, sometimes it modifies exisiting files. If you simply removed the files affected by the patch. You might have removed needed game files that were modified. The best way to unpatch your game is....
Copy the 'save' and 'ROSTER.DAT' files, to another folder.
Use windows 'control panel' to 'add/remove' Wizards & Warriors.
Re-install WW and then....drop copies of 'save' and 'ROSTER.DAT' on the.....Activision\WizardsWarriors folder.

Let me know ...how it goes...

Edit: I play WW, unpatched...on an ME machine...No problems. Maybe you have other issues. (ie...drivers)
