I just wanted to thank everyone for all the assistance. I decided to finish the crypt before heading back to town to heal my fighter--I figure there's a lot of game still left, so he can handle being a level or two behind (in fact, he's already more or less caught up with the others).

Otherwise, I'm playing the game fairly slowly and cautiously. I get a quest, leave town to finish it, then work on another. It can get a little confusing having umpteen different quests at a time, and the journal system is a bit unwieldy. I'm having a great deal of fun, though.

Radek--you say that you can get the Ancient Lore trait and the Artifacts skill in the Temple. I think I know how to train skills, but how do you get new traits?

I now have a couple more questions. I decided I'd post them here, rather than start a new thread, since they still fall under the "beginner" banner.

1. I'm almost done exploring the Eastern part of the map, and want to go to Ishad N'Ha. However, I can't for the life of me locate a route. What to do?

2. Two of my fighters have a quest to retrieve a sword from the crypt. Can they both complete the quest if the questgiver takes the sword?

As to ancient lore: The trait can be purchased in the warrior guild and the wizard guild. I believe they are available once you have level three guild standing. Once you have that trait you will be able to train the artefact skill. If you can already train that skill it is because you already have the trait.

As to finding the way to Ishad N'ha: Check out Xignal's Site. There you will find maps and all other sorts of useful things. Basically, though, you have to follow the river until you get to a giant cave. To get through the cave you must wear the holy signet found in the crypt. Then you will get to Ishad N'ha.

As to the Sword of Mastus quest: You will often get a quest where you must retrieve an item. When delivering the item all characters will get the reward if they have all undertaken the quest!

It goes as follows: Once you deliver the item the character delivering it will get experience points + guild promotion. Then click on another player and that player will receive the same, although the guildmaster's speech will differ a bit. There are a few quests which also carry a reward in the form of gold pieces. There you will only get the gold once, but the other characters will still get the rest.

Hmmm... I know you can get Ancient Lore in the Wizards and Priests guilds. I did not know about the Warriors guild.

As bsftcs has pointed out, everyone who has the quest gets rewarded when you complete it. The first person gets a "thanks for doing the job" message, and everyone else gets a "someone else already did it" message. But you still get the XP and level promotions, if applicable.

Note that some quests can be done at different times, while other quests are one-time-only quests. For example, everyone can do the "Give Mekdawa a potion" and "Donate to the temple" Priests guild quests. But the party can do the "Retrieve the ring of Saints" quest only once.

Same thing goes for assassination quests (Mon the Sculz, Juba Thobers, Tevik Teporn, Brimloch pirate). They can only be completed once, unless you use the holy Reset Adventures switch and start the game over.

To get to the cave you must go to the abandoned house with the gypsies. From there you get on your raft & take every left turn you can, staying in the water.
