Is a Ranger, a thief and a Mage enough for IWD? Trying to make a lord of rings game. Strider, Frodo and Gandalf so far any ideas???

If you are careful and stock up on healing potions, then yes.

You could get

Gimli - Dwarwen fighter
Legolas - Elven fighter or ranger

but you're going to lack healing in a BIG way.

I know this might sound unusual but how about Gandalf as a Druid? In the book he talks to the Lord of the Eagles and tames a wild horse (Shadowfax). Most of the magic he seems to use isn't of the fireball/lightning bolt variety anyway, but protective or nature enhancing (foaming horses, erath tremors to break bridges etc.)

Anyway it would certainly solve your healing problem.

And don't forget a human fighter for Boromir.

Or stretch a little and make Boromir a paladin ... that will help a LITTLE with the healing.
