The disk isn't cooled by liquid, there is a sealed pressurized liquid bearing replacing a ring of ball bearings. It is near on silent, and won't wear down/groove. Where the mouse drivers has nothing to do with which drive would click. But you may now hear head noise, where you could not before because of the louder spinning noise. Now the drive spins almost silent, you may hear the heads switching track to track.
