I've had the hiccups for HALF AN HOUR now, approximately once every 15-25 seconds. This is maddening. Ever hear about those people who've had them for weeks and months and years? How on earth did they not throw themselves off a cliff? I'm ready to do that now, and I've only had them for half an hour.

So, yeah. Unfortunately, nobody's around who can scare me, and I tried all the hokey home remedy stuff. No dice. I actually feel like a yoga pose should be able to help, but I have no idea which one it would be. I feel like if I figured out which one it was, I could be famous. Oh well.

I did it! After 45 agonizing minutes, I found that if I sort of contracted my whole chest and stomach area, bringing my shoulders to the front, and staying there for a while, they were completely gone. I will be patenting this technique immediately. Cheers.

I find this whole hicup thing so bizzare. I have had them but.... After about 3-4 seconds I can will them away.

I have never need to use any kind of weird way to get of them.

Anyways way to go on getting rid of them.

Wow hiccups are quite the hot topic nowadays LOL. Illumina, glad yours went away, dang 45 minutes is quite a long time to have them! I think the longest time I've ever had them was maybe 15 minutes and that was too long for me! Ugg!

Man....maybe it's terrorists. They are testing stuff! The next assault on us all is going to be some horrid death by eternal hiccups! OMG I can see it now! We all must be viligant and take, errr, heed! Yes heed, take that and run with it, whatever heed is. I hope heed helps us all with our possible future hiccup epidemic! The terrorists won't have to worry about killing us, we will eventually kill ourselves because of the hiccups! Oh, and yep, it's Friday, and sleeting outside so I'm stuck inside and have had a few beers, so....take heed for that too...

Yes. See, I might claim that a physical position cured me, but it was my indomitable willpower. I knew, in my heart of hearts, that if I was unable to cure myself, The Terrorists Win. I knew that I had to beat them, to hold myself up as a shining example of the power of the human spirit in the face of insurmountable obstacles. I'm writing an inspirational book on it as we speak, so expect to see me on Oprah in the coming weeks.
