Hey, you don't have to insult other peoples musical tastes, I happen to like Black Sabbath too so could you please not call other peoples tastes 'lame,' some people might find that pretty offensive.

I am 38 years old and if a thirteen year old kid came up to me wearing a Black Sabbath t-shirt came up to me.......I'd be saying HELL YEA!!!!!!! After all they are my favorite band of all time! Dont like Sabbath? Fine, I dont like N Sync. When I read posts by Grand-Ranger and MANY others( Lioness for sure, that is a very smart girl)I cant help but think that they will be a great generation in the future. If anyone "talks down" to them because they are older well you shouldnt.

No, probably little buddy or something like that. Then I would show you some old vinyl

I've never listened to either Black Sabbath or Slipknot.
Metallica, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Steppenwolf and Apocalyptica are what I listen to, you should try it sometime.

Well of course age differences are not so important via the internet
In RL friends physically do things, go places, hang out etc
so age is possibly a factor if you not old enough to drink etc

Over the internet at say a site like this there is a common link of RPG stuff or whatever it is
In RL huge age differences are more apparent cos what is the common link
no doubt there is huge differences in what you both like etc

I have no teenage friends rl but i do on the internet and they are fun and easy to talk to
Its just diff in RL, i think an age difference is so much more apparent in the real world (and i dont mean purely to do with looks etc)

Hmm don't think that makes me agesist or anything
Just normal im sure

I mean I am not critizing anyone here, and I am gald my friends do call me friends.

But I was just pondering on how much the internet can change realastion ships based on looks and age.

Not being able to see someone can make a BIG difference in the way they are treated. No-one knows your age, your colour, how you dress, if you have a disability, your gender, your sexual orientation, your body-shape - nothing! All we get are the words on the page. I personally think that is great! It cuts right past the prejudices..

And don't fool yourself - we all have prejudices of one sort or another! One of them is a tendency not to take young people seriously. But many of the young people in here have amazed me with their maturity and the depth of their understanding - I have thought some of them adult until told otherwise! And I have thought some adults to be young teenagers, lol!!

The internet is a great leveller, it puts us all on an equal footing ..... Long may it continue to do so!
