Currently paying a fortune for being on the forum, as I am still paying phone bill. My ISP is Nextra (formerly CIX) and I have to keep my CIX account because it's on all the business stuff I had printed recently.

So, I want to use something else as well, for internet access. I'll keep CIX for the email, just. Anyone got any suggestions? I've heard lots of horror stories about ISPs who charge flat rates, e.g. can't get on, slow loading times and so on, any advice?

I use a BT line for my phone, and Brit Gas Communications for the service, which is 1p per minute after 6 and 3p a minute during the day. I have cable installed (Cable and Wireless) but don't use it as no TV. A friend tell me that Cable and Wireless don't do any type of surfing package anyway.

Please help, as I am about to become very poor when the phone bill comes in!!

I doubt this will help you, but currently i subscribe to NTL (2 phone lines BTW ) and as long as we spend more than £10 a month on phone calls we get the internet free for a long as we want!

Dont quote me on this BTW, bhut the deal is something like this.

Wow! I could do that? Question: is access good? And 2. do you have a number for them? (Or I guess do they have a web site?)

I really dont know the conditions etc, seeing as i'm only 15 and all... , but the acess is good. It can be slow at times, but never frequently. The only minor downside is that it automatically throws you off after 2 hours. But you can just reconnect right after it.

I dont have a number unfortunatley, but i'd check it out. No harm in asking.

I've never had any complaints. I do have to take a break every two hours' but I just start again immediately - generally it only takes about 10 secs to get going again. I believe my speed is also more than adequate given my ageing equipment.

As for BTinternet, it's fine as well..........

More than impressive, Mouse! Personally, I couldn't keep up. Not as young as I was (croaky voice, palsied hand shakes timorously...)
