I'm in Chapter 5 (Ust Natha) and am already thinking about the makeup for my next party. Since I have Anomen in my current party and want to switch up the NPCs I think I need to have my protagonist be a cleric. I figured I'd start out a human fighter or beserker and dual to Cleric, so I can Grandmaster in hammer for the Crom Faeyr and/or flail for the Flail of Ages.

Question is, what level would be best to dual at? Since I'm not dualling to mage I don't have the advantage of using spells to gain levels so I don't want to wait too long. I will probably take this 2nd party through ToB (I just bought it last night). My main concerns is the # of attacks per round.

Does the level you dual at affect how much you can put into one weapon (i.e. do I have to attain a certain level in fighter in order to Grandmaster in hammer)?

If you have ToB, dual at level 12.

Level 13 is the maximum you can duel from before you start losing clerical spells; but since there is no real advantage for 13 over 12, 12 is the way to go.

Your fighter has nothing to do with the number of proficiencies you can put into a weapon. You can grandmaster when dualed from any fighter level.
