1. aside from ankheg armour (which is worse than the stuff I have) is there any use for ankheg shells or is there anywhere I can sell them?

2. the statue of amaunator is waiting to put something in her hands I have completed the rest of the mission (but not killed the dragon) what does the statue need?

3. I have the 2nd half of a journal found in the ruins, where is the first half?

many thanks

1.) I'm not sure who buys them... perhaps the Adventurer's mart? Or the bonus pack merchants? I never kept them because there is better armor, and the shells were very heavy to carry around for a long time.

2.)The statue is waiting for your lover (Jaheira, Aerie, Viconia ~ Anmomen) to be turned into a vampire/killed by Bodhi. You place them there with Bodhi's heart and the statue revives them.

3.) No idea, I'm almost there myself.

The other half of Tonaleth's Journal can only be found as part of the Ranger quest. If your PC is not a Ranger, the journal wont' be of any use.

Thanks, my main character is an undead hunter (paladin) but he cannot increase to beyond 2* proficiency in weapons. The manual says that weapon specialisation is a quality of the character type - what is wrong?

That's the whole point - he only gets 'weapon specialisation', not 'advanced weapon specialisation' like a Fighter. Compare Paladin and Fighter info on pages45/46 of your manual. Sorry!

All makes sense now - thanks a lot. BTW can anyone tell me what I do with the piece of red cloth? I know it belongs to someone who frequents the Bridge district but I've been everywhere I can think of and can't findanyone suspicious

The red cloth is part of the kidnapping quest. Maybe you don't remember, but you got it from the guy in the Graveyard who was buried alive (Tirdis). Just walk around the bridge district and if you see someone completely dressed in red, he's your man! I'm not going to spoil you any further, just talk to him.

Thanks Melusine, but (see above) that was who I thought I was looking for, have I possibly killed him as part of another quest? I've wandered around quite a bit but no sign of matey-boy. Is he in one of the unmarked buildings

Try looking behind the buildings. You can walk down the main street of the Bridge District, but you can also walk between and behind some of the buildings on the Southeast side of the map. Your man is behind/between two buildings in the Bridge District

Try the buildings about half-way down the map -- just below the Tanner's. He's right next to some buildings with locked doors.
