I trounced the evil Lord Cet D'whatever with barely a scratch. I had pretty much normal weapons without the benefit of souping them up (because I'm lazy essentially). But now its over? Nada left? Kinda feel like I just finished opening my last Christmas present and it was a pair of socks rather than a bike I wanted. The battles after Xydussa were not hard at all (especially after gaining access to the various storm spells). Also, what is the point of getting a Zenmaster and Valkyrie (I did, just to say that I did) when you have them for about 3 minutes before the end of the game? I thought assassin came a bit too early and that the others were WAY too late.
But, hey, before I'm booted out of here for being such a critic, I loved the game and thank everyone who helped my laziness with their information. I really hope a part 2 comes out now. Gotta go find some other game now to keep me in the wife's bad graces ("Are you on the &^*&^ computer again?!?!?"). PS. Is there some funny trick to do with the first vampire in Shrugeon Ruins? I think I remember reading something to that effect. . . |

In the immortal, but misquoted words of Bogart,
"Play it again, Sam!" (I know, not the real quote from the movie!) Everyone mostly agrees the end was a letdown! Mark |

LOL ccannon!!!
You'd never get booted out for being a critic especially not of the ending. It is a disappointment and ZenMaster and Valkyrie coming so very (VERY) late in the game is the height of poor planning. I think we have to chalk those disappointments off to lack of funding for full development of the game as it was originally planned and a rush to get it out the door and on the market. Still, it is a fun game and well worth replaying!! Wyv |

I too was dissappointed with the ending. You kinda go "Oh, okay, so that's it huh?" I was still entertained by it though (who'd have thought that the narrator was a.... don't wanna spoil it for any who haven't beat it yet) And the fact that Valkyrie and Zenmaster come SO late in the game was a major let down. However I've heard of some people (and started this myself to some extent) playing through the game with only their Zenmaster or Valkyrie. This way you can enjoy the awesome power of these roles and you can also get to insanely high levels as well (I've heard of a level 520 Zenmaster once). And if you really wanna be powerful, find a Murakata No-Dachi (I THINK that's the strongest weapon without boosting) and boost it as many times as you can on Damage. With 7 damage blesses in will do 17-45 damage in 1 hit! And with a 24 strength I've done as much as 85 damage without any critical hits or traits like arm of argus and fury! Another fun thing to do in your second time is to try many different party combos, it can be very fun and/or difficult.
My recommendation is this: PLAY AGAIN!!! -Jafin ------------------ Proud Citizen of the United States of America The Original Arch-Mage of the HADB Destroyer of the evil Bunnies Proprietor of the Boogre Bar [This message has been edited by Jafin (edited 09-20-2001).] |
