Bad news for all Icewind dale fans who were really looking forward to IWDII, it appears Black isle is in need of money and is making the game as fast as possible.
The good side is that it will be in the stores by christmas, the bad news is the game will be 48% shorter then originaly planned and will be using the same old infinity engine. I dont know about you but im getting real tired of games like this that come out to soon. Take braveheart, the game wasnt even finished yet and full of bugs! When are developers going to learn that gamers find a few months extra far preferable over a half finished produkt full of bugs?

Very true, Dreamer. I suppose we will have the *advantage* of being able to buy the rest of the game as add-ons at the same price as IWDII. I guess they just want to get the game out for the Christmas market, 'cos if they don't they will lose a lot of casual sales. They KNOW they can depend on selling to us, but additional sales to people new to the IWD NEED to be made over Christmas.

Well that shit wont fly.. I´m pretty tired of half finished games and the price tag climbing steady up. For a long time games here in Sweden have cost arounf 400 Skr. Now today I bought Red Faction and it cost 399 Skr. Oki, it´s a good game, but worth a 25% raise??? And will I pay standard price for a game that is 48% shorter thatn what it was inteted? Nah, I could live with it if the pricetag was 48% cheaper..

Well, Ice Winddale 2 sounds like well, not a too stunning and sexy product anyway, and witht the problems I had running the original game smoothly, I think I will give IWD2 some time before I even starts thinking of testing it!

I'll lend my finacial support to an excellent cause. Hopefully they have learned enough to rush it out without too many bugs (yeah right)

They might reduce the price, and also add on the other half as an add on pack a couple of months later, which irons out the bugs and doubles the size of the game. At least i hope so...
