I'm really interested in playing Star Wars Galaxies, but have heard varying degrees of good and bad on it. Now that it's been out for several months (with an expansion on the way), I was wondering if I could get opinions on it. The good and bad! I'm also interested in the beginner's learning curve - how easy or difficult it is to get into. I would mainly be playing solo, but am not adverse to grouping.
Any info is appreciated. Regards, Michael [ 04-26-2004, 10:10 PM: Message edited by: RitingFool ] |

In the words of countless reviews I've read and from what I've seen myself. Great idea, horrible execution.

it's pretty boring when you start out, but when(IF) you manage to find a group the game ROCKS. Even if your an anti social loser (like me), you can always find common ground by making fun of the people that pay 12.25 month to click the "play instrument" button (enterntainers/muscisians)

Some game magazine people here tested this game with a dialup 56k modem and they report that they can play it without much hassle. Though the expensive monthly payment and require a credit card might disuade people here from playing the game.

Kakero is right, the only real problem I had with lag was with my lack of DDR ram in the cities.

I played it for a couple of months and just wasn't impressed. I had a bounty hunter and it was okay, but I hear that the new expansion for it should really pick things up, offerening in space dogfights.
