I just found this web site, http://www.mapmyrun.com, that will let you see the distance of your walk or run route. Normally I'd scope a rout out in my car, wasting gas, which is getting out of control(that is for another thread) but now from the comfort of my house I can see how far I want to walk of run.

the site is pretty accurate, but not 100%. Also, it doesn't have records of all the roads, so you can't always 'map your run'
