Skip Doctor. Also goes by the brand names CD, Game, and DVD Doctor. The mechanical model is my weapon of choice.

Just picked up Game Doctor last night because you guys piqued my curiosity. My IWD game as not been able to install for some time due to not being able to read the data anymore. The home remedies while OK, are not great except for the Brasso which is basically the same idea, apply, polish, and buff but I just hadn't got around to buying a tin yet, than there is finding the proper cloth for polishing and buffing. Anyway the kit comes with everything you need and it works. IWD is installed on my PC again.

I researched this some more and it eventually came down to Brasso, Fine grit sand paper (the kind jewellers use) and reglar toothpaste.

Well since i had the toothpaste i applied some to the Game CD an voila!! SSX Tricky works again!!

at first the game never loaded....then it loaded played then froze then after 1 minute of wiping the toothpaste in the deepest scratches were removed (althouh very fine ones were created!!) i admit i was worried but hey i'm playing my games again!!
