I've been having a problem for some time now that I can't seem to get any help with. In certain message boards, like the Atari forums and the new forums for the game Sacred, I simply can't view them. I can see the words "Important" or "Poll", but all of the actual topics are hidden from view, preventing me from viewing them. Also, on websites with links that seem to use/require javascript (the word javascript appears on the "link line" when it "previews" where the link leads to at the bottom of Internet Explorer), I cannot access them.

I'm not sure when this started, but it's been at least six months. Is there some javascript program that I could be missing or something? My system specs are below. I'm current with all drivers and Windows updates.

Any and all help with this strange problem is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Michael

Run adaware, run spybotSD. Google will turn them up. Make sure to run the updaters before you scan.

Running the above-mentioned programs didn't help my problem. It's very frustrating not being able to access certains forums or features!

Any other help is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Michael

Have you restricted javascript access and execution in your browser? Go into Tools, Internet Options, Security, Custom Level, and see what you have the Javascript settings at. Alternately, you can restore the Medium security level, where javascript should work.

Note that if you restore the Medium level or make any changes, IE is not designed to let you revert back to those. So you may want to get familiar with your settings before you do anything...

My Java permissions were at HIGH. I changed it to LOW, with no appreciable difference in running Java applets (that I could see). What would my settings have to be at to be able to view the stuff I want to see? Particularly, the forums I can't see (for whatever reason, like the Atari forums) remain the same (I can't see them).

Any further help is appreciated.

Regards,
Michael
