I need some advice from people more experienced than me. AVG control center told me several times over the last few days that it had found files infected with this virus. After a clean it healed the files, but the infection alerts kept coming. So I went on an internet search and found out a lot more about this virus. I read that it creates a .dll file in the windows directory does registry entries (the site told me where) and at certain times does a clean sweep of local hard drives. I open up regedit and start a search for the .dll and both come up with nothing. The locations specified did not contain the registry keys neither the .dll. Since yesterday I haven't had any new infect alerts about this virus and my question would be whether it has gone or whether the information I got was incorrect. Here is the site I got the info from:

Head to Trend Micro and do an on-line scan. www.trendmicro.com is the URL. If there is still something there, they should identify it.

Sometimes, you can get false positives on viruses. But if you've cleaned and searched (and search with the "display hidden files" option turned on), you're probably in fine shape.

I'd also check McAfee or Norton's antivirus libraries for more information on it. They're both good sources to confirm these kinds of things.

Good luck.
