Ehrm. The morningstar proficiency also allows you to use flails, but if you are specifically asking about morningstars there are these two:

Sleeper +2: Has a chance on every hit to make a non-elven demihuman fall asleep.

Wyvern's Tail +2: As the name implies it is a wyvern tail stuck on a stick. It's enchantment makes the tail continue to produce poison so it does quite a bit of poison damage with each hit. Nearly all living opponents are susceptible to poison (kills trolls too).

The troll's susceptibility to Poison is a bug, I think. (Unless it was some kind of acidic poison....)

I'd like to see an upgrade for the Wyvern's Tail, perhaps turning it into a vorpal weapon? (Big pointy barb on end pierces helmet, you die. Next!) It'd be neat to see a vorpal weapon that Clerics can use.

I didn't think it was a bug until you mentioned it.

Oh aren't there morning stars in the Collector's Edition on the new merchants?

Well, the Defender of Easthaven is actually a flail IIRC, and I am pretty sure that poison killing trolls is not a bug.
