Hi!
I've started Wiz8 for the third time, and I decided to do the rune-quests at an earlier lvl than 20... as the monsters there are of incredulously low level. However, the Antone won't sell me daggers. I've killed off about 20 Higardi rogues in the Anikan wilderness, but to no avail. Are daggers THAT hard to find? a) How can I find daggers? b) Do I need daggers for all three rune-quests, or do I need other items as well? |

You need:
Dagger - Cemetery Dungeon Long Sword - Mtn. Wilderness Dungeon Short Staff - N. Wilderness Dungeon I've been able to buy the long sword from Antone with no problem and usually pick up numerous daggers along the way from the rogues, though Antone occasionally has one in stock. I've never had any problems finding daggers. My problem was always the short staff, until I learned to buy it from Burz before I ever left the Monastery. Just remember that the two wilderness dungeons are harder than the cemetery one. I have found the Mtn. one to be the most difficult but also the most rewarding.

Many thanks for your thorough reply..
As I said, this is my third time playing through this game, and I've always killed the trynnie the moment I see him. I'm about level 3-4 when I meet him, so the xp is really good. |

Another place to get a dagger is from the Trynnie merchant in the Lower Monastery, past the wheel temple bridge. He has lower level stuff. You can also rest a cycle or two and the stuff changes. Um, nevermind if you aleady killed him. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to kill merchants. Especially in This game!

don't forget the Umpani!
take a walk thru their barracks and open all their lockers. plain daggers and plain swords everywhere! of course, it's a tad ironic that you need the plain short staff for their retro dungeon but you won't get one of those to drop around them. ::shrugs:: V***V

I don't kill merchants as a habit.. but I "need" the xp, and besides, I get a kick when the trynnie tries to summon backup (he'll summon powerful tree spirits which will kick your donkey if you're not over lvl 15), but the program won't allow him, because Im standing so close to him
