Look at it from a different perspective... If Paul Oakenfold never existed, we probably wouldn't have the countless bad trance records overrunning the market. Whatever drunk critics yell about Oakenfold being "relevant", I couldn't even enjoy his records when I was tied up and fed dozens of XTC pills (Oh, pardon me - 'party drugs' ). Especially the way he mutilated Afrikaa Bambaataa's Welcome to Planet Rock for the Swordfish soundtrack was almost blasphemous (wasn't trance btw). His earlier work is okay, but that was in the time not every trance record had the same strings, same melodies, same drumloops, some beats and, in the worst trance variants (the one with vocals ), the same non-characteristic vocals over and over and over again.

And you know what? I'm not planning on taking any of those pills ever either.
