a penny saved and a penny earned....

I pulled up by the vacuum (sp?) section by the car wash, got out to put my quarters in the machine, and noticed ALL the pennies on by the machine and on the ground belonging to the person on the other side.

thought to myself "heh, lot of pennies stuck in the seats" and went back vacuuming my car....

then she got into her car and took off WITHOUT taking the pennies!!!

I COULDN'T believe it!

I counted the pennies that she left behind and came up with about 35 cents worth... since she seem do not care about the pennies so I took them


I gave them a new home in my penny jar...

'a penny saved, a penny earned'

I have about 100 150 pennies that are taking over my pencil tray in my desk at work. As far as I'm concerned, if you ever find yourself in Minneapolis, they're your's my friend.

Adam: I agree, 35 cents may not seem like a lot to someone, but heck, it adds up. Yes, I pick up pennies, and I do roll them (along with other coins).

There has been some talk about discontinuing the penny as it is no longer a valid unitary value (anyone know of anything you can buy for a penny anymore?) I have no idea how this stands now...if anyone knows of any information on this, let me know.

Saz... I turn them in at the bank yearly and usually come up about $90-$100

yeah I heard about the discontinuing of the penny... that would be very difficult who tries to make change from sales tax... I mean how would it affect it?

The government will just force business to round sales tax up to the nearest nickle. Shazam....extra tax revenue.
