When the Characters reach higher levels they need much exp to get the next lvl. So is it a good idea to change role of a priest after 5 or 6 lvls to paladin, which is easy to become and then increase the spiritcraft and after another 5 lvl change to ranger, also easy to become and train the vinecraft? So I need much less exp do I??

That is right! You will be needing much less experience points to gain those level ups than you would if you were to take your priest to level 16 or 17. Just remember to join the guilds you can join (if you do not plan on exploiting the multiple guild bug), so that you can get to train as much as possible. (It is especially a good idea to join the priest guild so that you can buy spellbooks).

Hi Halx!!

You can go ahead and change your Priest to Paladin, concentrating on Spirit spells, after about 7 levels or so but I would not change the Paladin to a Ranger until you had gotten ALL the Spirit spells you want.

And to point out a minor detail, I would not change the priest to a paladin until you've got the level 4 vine spell Cure Poison. Mighty handy, that one is, in just a little bit further on in the game...

Aside from that, the usual suggestion to get level seven spells still applies. But you'd only have to worry about Vine, since your paladin will still be able to learn level seven spirit. If you don't care about those spells at the moment, then don't worry about it.

It's a problem of high level spells. You need a level 6 (7) priest to get level 6 (7) priest spells. You can also become a level 6 (7) paladin and ranger with the same effect later.
Which spells? I recommend Rebirth and Exorcism (level 7 Spirit spells), Restore Health and Dust to Dust (level 6 Spirit spells) and Cure (level 6 Vine spell) at least. Also, if you plan the Blessings skill for your priest then you will appreciate Artifact of Spirit (level 7 Spirit spell).
Not all these spells are needed right now. Only the Cure spell is urgent. You will find Exorcism and Restore Health helpful in Brimloch Roon but Brimloch Roon is far away and you can live without these spells in the end. The Dust to Dust spell is a splendid tool against dangerous undeads with bags of HPs but you can kill these undeads with your weapons, too. The Artifact of Spirit makes sense only if your priest will bless items. Otherwise, do not teach the priest the spell.

i dun recommend u change ur priest's role so quickly..... it's better to get the lvl 7 spells for both sch's 1st, but if u wana try that method, it's fine too! best of luck in ur journey!
btw, later in the game, in anephas's shrine, there is an area i nickname the scorpion den and u can easily earn as much as 720x20 exp there! (calculate it out and see for urself!)

Do not overrate the "scorpion den" in the Anephas Shrine When do you enter the shrine? You can be sure that all your characters will be level 15 at least. Therefore, it'll be 250 000 XP from one level to another. How many scorpions will you need to gain a SINGLE level? A solo character will need about 55 scorpions. A party of six will need about 330 scorpions. Isn't it a bit silly? Compare the effort with the achievment
Become evil and kill Oakenmir instead if you want levels. You can also add Erathsmedor. Answer the riddles of the Sphinx wrongly. Gain the Crusade trait and take a trip into the Scull Castle. The last method isn't evil at all and I daresay that it is much more efficient than the scorpion method.

By the time I get to Anephas' shrine, I'm not really worried about levels, frankly. They tend to get in the way of game play

They're much more important early on when your absolute level is less than ten. Later, when your virtual level is 10 and your absolute level is in the 60s, few things bother you.

By virtual level, I mean the level that you're at in the class you are right now. Absolute level is the total number of levels you've achieved. If you spent ten levels as a warrior, paladin, ranger, ninja, and samurai, and you're currently a tenth level warlock, your virtual level is ten while your absolute level is 60.

Not exactly a scientific measurement of prowess (hey! that's a skill!), but it does account for how things get easier along the way when you're "only" level one in a new class.
