They are just baubles... like the gold ingots. They look nice but serve no other purpose than adding to one's income.

With the exception of the moonstones later on, that is. All other gems AFAICR are just money waiting to be collected.

I like gems.
I have this so called 'Game of gem', and it's fun. It's simple game and works every time. Maybe I could challenge you guys in it! Here are rules:[*]Find gems and take 'em... ( easy? ) [*]Collect gem into one person[*]Don't sell or drop eny gems during the game! ( important ! )[*]At the end of game, count all gems.[*]Don't remember all things, but you get one point for every cheapest gem, and two point from the seaconds cheapest, and so on...[*]Count your points...[*]Count again, I'm sure you tried to cheat point, or two![*]Compare results to your early games... It's fun to see how many gems you get fewer or more than games before... Well It's long competition, 'cause you have to have two or more games, when you have collected and saved all gems... But it's fun!

An interesting idea! Really I am doing a similar thing with the mining results in the Stout Mines but why not to extend the gem game to the whole game. At least, opening of most of chests gets some reason. Also, Stout Mines become attractive somehow I must try it next game pass through I would add one additional rule:
After Reset Adventures, you must sell all your gems so that your "gem score" reflects your achievments in a single game pass through.

Well It's up to you do you sell gems after reset ad. but I surely hope you do! No cheating! And maybe it would be easier to sell those gems and see how much you earn... Just sell them with person that doesn't have that merchant trait... If I'm not wrong, shopkeepers will pay same price to everyone, and only merchant skill can affect it... right?

Yes and that's the problem. Moreover, the Merchant trait depends on your WIL. If you want to be just then you need to note the prices of the stones sold without the Merchant trait (without actual selling them) and evaluate your achievments at the end of the game in the "raw prices" yourself. Or, if you have a mule in the inn then the mule can sell the stones - the mule will not have the trait most likely. Or you can express your achievments in the stones themselves.
Also, let us note that the "score" is a matter of random rolls. You cannot state too firmly who was better and who was worse. It's rather an additional entertainment than a serious measure of your game skill.

It just popped into my mmind, 'cause I have one character who collects gems...
I don't need to sell them, and somehow them just multiply in my package... Now I have so plenty of them that I don't want to sell them anymore, so I wonder how much gems can you get in the game... So I just make up something that ould get you guys collect gems too! Please, give it a try!
