Hi,

I'm a member of this forum for a month now and slowly I'm digging my way through hundreds of interest posts about games and other things. But I have a problem. Because english isn't my native language I have problems to understand all the 'shorties' that are used here. I think that AFAIK means 'as far as I know' but they are others I can't identify like LOL or IMHO.

Maybe someone out there can help me ?

Thanks

Bad habits die hard.. I think that's how it goes.

LOL means laugh out loud.
IMHO means in my humble/honest opinion
ROTFLMAO means rolling on the floor laughing my #%& off
IIRC means if I recall correctly

That's about all I know, or can think of.

Loudhy, a great place to brush up on english skills would be Cloudy's Cafe It's a thread in this forum for the single purpose to regular conversation. You might not get an imediate reply as the Cafe has been somewhat empty as of late.

P.S.

Furthermore:
FYI: For Your Information

And there are game specific abbrevations (such as in the Baldur's Gate II forum, but they're dealt with in the FAQ of that specific board)

One that you must remember though is this one: "STTC" Submit To The Choc" Do that, and you'll be fine

Welcome to the board Loudhy!

Question Mark

kwim=know what i mean
imo=in my opinion (not all of us are humble )

all the others i know are from my baby boards...and around here you probably don't need to know them...i mean who here needs to know why a fight between dh and dd might get someone po'd because she is pg, and suffering from m/s and bh.
