So what websites don't you want other people seeing?
Dang! I was afraid of that. Looks like I'll have to clear the history everytime I stop using the computer.

What OS are you running? Windows has the Tweak UI applet in Control Panel (separately on older versions) that lets you change a lot of things, including a paranoia tab setting. On that tab, you can set IE to clear your browser history every time you log on, among other things.

There's also an IE tab that lets you tell IE to clear various histories on exit.

That might get you what you want...

Try this first:
1. Close all running instances of Internet Explorer and all browser windows.
2. In Control Panel, click Internet Options.
3. Click the General tab, and then click Clear History.
4. Click Yes, and then click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.

If the cached addresses are still listed in the Address box in Internet Explorer, use the following steps (if you are feeling brave and want to mess in the registry, bear in mind that you should be careful messing in the registry, it can be hazardous - no, really, it can):
1. Quit Internet Explorer.
2. Access the registry by using start>run>regedit
3. Delete all of the values except for the (Default) value from the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs

I'm using WinXP. I can't find this Tweak UI you are talking about.

Problem is that I've to do that everytime I finish using the IE.

Super risky. Any second opinion on this matter?

Go here to download it from Microsoft. It will show up in Control Panel once installed, and there's a tab within TweakUI that covers IE Tweaks.

It's part of the Powertoys add-on from MS. Officially unsupported, but very, very useful.
